a post with no point

so 3 weeks of GS have gone by.
no actually 3 weeks of vascular surgery have gone by, cos i've been sufficiently lazy to have not seen patients from other teams in GS.
in fact i've been so lazy that i still haven't clerked a single patient!

listening to hardworking stories of those in gen med and emed makes me feel slightly like a shit.
like i'm wasting time and money.
but then again, elective is about electing what yu wanto do right?
or at least that's the poison wayne has fed into my mind.
but ultimately, at least we're squeezing a project out!
and i've seen some interesting surgeries, which involve marinating a graft in the patient's blood. like, !!?
and i have done some stitching, although it was terrible enough for dr ben to say i should just go do cardiology. which isn't bad actually, cos i do like cardiology lor.

but actually, i think my favourite part of this posting is the fact that i have had the time to do what i like.
i have met xian and xinyi almost weekly since cny day 3, which is so pricelessly rare. and i was able to meet beng too, which is so extremely super rare cos beng is like the busiest person ever.
i have had early days so i could go out for movies with my mom.
i have met the harderworking bunch of med friends over sushi tei (my absolute fav) and juno with wacky subtitles.
i can take off whenever i want, so i was able to make time for wisdom teeth extraction. yes i kinda look like a chipmunk now..

so even though i may ultimately seem like a lazy shit in terms of medical students, i do feel pretty pleased actually with what this month has become. because life does not and should not solely revolve around med school, especially since this is the last 4 month break without exams bitches!!

i am also pretty pleased cos since i extracted my 4 wisdom teeth on friday, i have lost 1kg/day!
that makes it 2 kg so far, but i think it'l stop here now, cos i have progressed from porridge to kway teow teng already..

in other happy news, my genious twit sis got into MIT for her masters and i got a spot in mount sinai for electives!
which all fits in great, since she can come over from boston to new york to visit!
i do wish i had gotten either gen surg or cardiothoracic surg instead, even plastics actually cos i do wanto see these parts of surg that i haven't got to see as yet.. but paeds neurology is ok too lah. cute angmoh kids!!

ok this post does sound a bit too happy for my standards, but actually i'm not really that happy lah, cos i am so craving pizza but i can't have any cos of my wisdom teeth op :(
